Born in Mikołów, 1966; studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the tutelage of Prof Jerzy Nowosielski and obtained her degree in 1992; currently engaged in easel painting and drawing; She uses traditional oil painting on canvas technique, drawing inspiration from an omnipresent Christian iconography, which she slightly simplifies and feminizes. She was engaged for many years in abstract painting, emphasising the work’s emotional message which built with colour. Currently her palette is cool, dichromatic, dry. As she says: “By avoiding colours I want to underscore the quality of thought”. Multiple grant winner, including the Ministry of Culture and Art Grant (1999), the Culture Grant of the City of Gdańsk (2005) and the Grant of the Marshal of Pomerania Province (2006, 2008), winner of the first prize at the 21st Elbląg Salon (Galeria EL, Elbląg, 2001) and of the first prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage at the 6th Sacred Art Triennial “Art Against Evil” (Municipal Art Gallery, Częstochowa, 2006), the Grand Prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage at the 20th Festival of Polish Contemporary Art (Zamek Książąt Pomorskich, Szczecin, 2006); qualified for the finals of the Painting of the Year competition (the X. Dunikowski Museum of Sculpture “Królikarnia”, Department of the National Museum, Warsaw, 2003, 2005); distinction at the 36th “Bielska Jesień” Polish National Festival of Contemporary Painting 2003” (Galeria Bielska BWA, Bielsko-Biała, 2003), nominated for the “Paszport Polityki” award in the category of visual arts (2007) and for the Sovereign European Art Prize (London) awarded by the Art Gallery Vernissage (2008); participated in the Art Fair and the “Very Good Paintings” exhibition organized by Galeria Bielska BWA in 2010. Her works can be found among numerous art collections in Poland, Germany, Japan, France, the USA and Australia.
