Zbigniew Bielewicz

Born on 10 August 1913 in Kęty, died on 8 September 2008 in Bielsko-Biała. Graduate at the Higher School of Visual Arts in Krakow where he studied under the supervision of professors: Witold Chomicz, Jerzy Karolak and Stanisław Jakubowski. He received his degree in 1948. Since 1951, member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (membership card no. 2311). In 1949-1950 he worked as a teacher in the Secondary School of Graphics in Nowa Ruda (near Kłodzko) and then in the Cultural Centre and Co-operative “Dekoracja” in Katowice, and the Graphic Works in Bielsko-Biała. He moved to Bielsko-Biała in 1965. His main area of work was designing and creating sacral polychrome, works in gold and ornaments. He was also a graphic designer and a painter.
