Winner of the Grand Prix – Minister of Culture and National Heritage Awards and distinctions: „Artluk" editorial office and "Artinfo.pl" editorial office in the 40th Biennale of Painting Bielska Jesień 2011.

Born in 1979 in Lublin, graduate of the Faculty of Arts in the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. He received his diploma with distinction, in the painting studio of Prof. Jacek Wojciechowski (2003). He works at the Faculty of Arts at the UMCS.
In 2011 Jakub Ciężki won the Grand Prix at the 40th "Bielska Jesień" Painting Biennale in 2011 — the award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage — for his work “Rusztowanie I” (Scaffold I). It is the tradition that the biennale organizer, Bielska Gallery BWA in Bielsko-Biała, invites the winner to organize his or her individual exhibition. The “blackout” exhibition presents artist’s latest works, created within the project that received the “Młoda Polska 2013”  scholarship granted by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage”.
