Born in Czechowice-Dziedzice, 1942, died in 2004. Student of Prof. Tymon Niesiołowski and Prof. Stanisław Borysowski at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń; degree in 1966. Artistic nickname: Andy.
Easel paintings including portraits, social subjects, symbolic and historic themes. Inspired by photography, a medium he employed in his works. Precursor of the so-called historic hyperrealism; also active in sculpture, functional graphics and poster designing.
Numerous solo exhibitions: in Bielsko-Biała, Opole, Cieszyn and Skoczów, as well as collective exhibitions at the national level and in Austria. Participated in exhibitions held by the Bielsko-Biała and Katowice ZPAP.
Won many awards, including the 2nd prize at the Young Painters’ Plein-Air Workshop in Miastko (1968); Ondraszek Award (1974); 1st prize at the Jesień Beskidzka Post-Workshop Painting Exhibition in Bielsko-Biała (1974); 2nd prize at the Industrial Plein-Air Workshop in Gliwice (1976) and two awards at the Bielska Jesień All-Poland Painting Exhibitions (Mayor of Bielsko-Biała Award in 1975 and 2nd prize in 1983). His works are in the collection of the Galeria Bielska BWA and in private collections.
