Born in Oświęcim, 1957; studied under Professor Stanisław Wejman at the Faculty of Graphic Art of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, from which he graduated with honours in 1986. His areas of interest are artistic printmaking, posters and painting. Author of a book entitled The Teaching of Painting (2009, published by Wydawnictwo Szkolne PWN). Since 1996 he has been teaching art subjects at the Secondary School of Visual Art in Bielsko-Biała. Recipient of scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and Arts (1995/1996). Winner of numerous awards and painting and graphics competitions including the Grand Prize at the Bharat Bhavan Graphic Biennale in Bhopal (India), the Grand Prize at the 4th International Graphic Biennale in Lubin (Poland) and an honorary mention in the Leon Wyczółkowski Polish National Painting Competition in Bydgoszcz. His paintings are derived directly from his personal experience in artistic graphic design and illustrate issues related to the human condition in the reality of today’s world along with its ambiguity, nosiness and impudence. In 2007 he received an honorary mention at the 38th “Bielska Jesień” Biennial of Contemporary Painting awarded by the Sztuka.pl monthly.
