Born in Krakow. He grew up in Biecz. Graduated from the State School of Visual Arts in Jarosław in 1967, student at the Faculty of Painting in the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the years 1969-1974. He was tutored by Prof. Janina Kraupe-Świderska and Prof. Adam Marczyński. Graduated with distinction in 1974 in wall and easel painting. In the second half of the 70’s he moved to Nowy Sącz.
