Janina Sawicka

Born in 1943, student of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She obtained a degree in easel painting in the studio of Prof. Krystyna Łada-Studnicka, and a degree in wall and architecture painting in the studio of prof. Jacek Żuławski. Since 1970 she has taken part in many exhibitions presenting the works of Bygdoszcz artists in Poland and abroad, among others in Pitesti (Romania), Le Havre and Rouen (France), and Copenhagen (Denmark). Her works are in the private collections and galleries. She has often participated in national and international plein-air painting exhibitions (in Tuchola, Mała Komorza, Inowrocław, Koronowo, Wigry, Śliwice, Charzykowice, Funka and Wdzydze Kiszewskie). Since her graduation and until 2002, she was also designing and organizing exhibitions of modern art in the BWA Gallery in Bydgoszcz and various Polish and European cultural centers.
