Born in Český Těšín, Czech Republic in 1945; studied under the tutelage of Professor Franciszek Bunsch and Professor Witold Chomicz at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków where she was awarded a diploma in Xylography (woodcut) and Graphic Art in 1971. Between 1972 and 1975 she ran a woodcut workshop at the Katowice-based Faculty of Graphic Arts of Kraków’s Academy of Fine Arts, and a relief printing workshop at the Institute of Art Education of the Cieszyn Branch of Katowice’s Silesian University (1974-80). Since 1971 she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and the XYLON International Society of Wood Engravers. She is a recognized artist of world renown. She specializes in painting, sculpture and drawing. However, she is most famous for her skills in wood engraving, which is the most important artistic technique she uses in her work. Her works have been presented at numerous solo exhibitions staged in many locations in Poland including Cieszyn, Rzeszów, Jastrzębie-Zdroj, Ustroń, Lublin, Warsaw and Bielsko-Biała. Her works have been also displayed in other countries including Australia (Adelaide), Sweden (Kristianstad), and Germany (Bad Segeberg, Hamburg, Mannheim, Heidelberg and Tübingen). She has been the recipient of Grand Prizes at many national and international exhibitions and competitions. She is also the Grand Prize winner of the Ondraszek Competion in 1978 and 1985 and many awards given at local exhibitions in Bielsko-Biała. Her works can be found in the collections of museums in Cieszyn, Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Bytom, Lublin, Olsztyn, Szczecin, Wawel Castle in Kraków, the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw, the National Library in Warsaw, the Soviet Army Museum in Moscow (Russia), the Museum of Fribourg (Switzerland), the Stadtgeschichtiche Museum in Nuremberg (Germany), many Polish BWA galleries and also in private collections.
