Born in Cieszyn, 1968; studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (1987–1992); a degree in Painting under Prof Jerzy Nowosielski; first-degree qualification procedure in 1999; currently heads the Interdisciplinary Department of the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków; also a lecturer in Curatorial Studies, Jagiellonian University, Kraków. His artistic activity covers painting, drawing, video and installation; prolific writer, author of numerous dissertations and treaties on alternative medicine and utopia. Winner of the Third Prize at the Polish National Painting Competition “Bielska Jesień” in Galeria Bielska BWA in Bielsko-Biała (1994). His works are inspired by various scientific theories covering such fields as psychology, psychiatry and anthropology, which he translates into coherent visual structures His objects and paintings are accompanied by various leaflets, instructions and dissertations – those written in a contemporary scientific jargon and those composed in an ancient style. By doing so he intends to elicit different interpretations from the viewing audience.
