Born in Łódź, 1976; studied at the Faculty of Textiles and Clothing of the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in the city of Łódź (1998–2003); graduated with honours from the Department of Carpet and Tapestry Design (2003) where he had studied under the tutelage of Professor Mariusz Kowalski and where he had also studied Painting under the tutelage of Professor Marek Wagner and Graphics Design under the tutelage of Professor Andrzej Smoczyński.
One of the most interesting Polish artists of the younger generation. A several times winner of the Special Prize in the Władysław Strzemiński Competition awarded by the Łódź Academy of Fine Arts. Recipient of a prize awarded at the Polish Print Triennial in Katowice in 2003, the Third Prize at the 4th 'Tczew Triennial 2004' National Graphics Competition and the Honourary Award at the 12th International Exhibition of Miniature Graphics in Łódź in 2005. He has participated in many prestigious national and international exhibitions and is constantly present at regular exhibitions of graphic art The most famous flagship works of Teodor Durski are large silkscreen images which often cover entire exhibition areas. They are characterized by sharp outline, synthetic forms and intense colours – features that tend to be associated to a larger degree with posters or painting rather than traditional graphics. His images clearly demonstrate the artist’s concern for composition and quality. His prints carry numerous semantic connotations and open up many interpretive possibilities.
