Born in 1912 in Wadowice, died in 1998.  Founding member of the pre-war Group of Beskidian Artists “Czartak II”, co-founder of Centers for Creative Work “Beskidy” and “Beskidnicy”. In 1931-1936 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, under the supervision of Professors: X. Dunikowski and K. Sichulski. As a student, he already joined the artistic circles gathered around Emil Zegadłowicz. His first exhibition was held in 1933, during the jubilee celebrations of E. Zegadłowicz achievements. Before the war, he had also exhibited in Krakow, Bielsko and Wisła.  Afer the war, Franciszek Suknarowski began to work as an educator. He thought in the high school in Wadowice and since 1950 in the School of Visual Arts in Bielsko-Biała (sculpture). He was the director of the State Center for Visual Arts.

His paintings express admiration to the beauty and harmony of the surrounding world. They can be found in Emil Zegadłowicz Museum in Gorzeń, the District Museum in Bielsko-Biała and the private gallery at Karmelicka Street in Wadowice. For many years, he has been the vice president of the Society of Wadowice Enthisiasts and the “Czartak” Foundation. Winner of Karol Miarka Award in 1995.
