Born on 25 September 1952 in Warsaw. He made his debut in the 1980’s. The works from that period fit into the new expression trend, often featuring the characteristic stencil text. Together with the “Gruppa” collective, he is considered to have significant influence on the development and the present shape of modern Polish painting. At present, he is the lecturer in the studio of painting space at the Faculty of Media Art and Scenography in the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Winner of Jan Cybis Award (2011). Nominated twice (in 2000 and 2006) to the Paszport “Polityki” Award.
