Born in Kielce, 1978; studied under Prof Krzysztof Wachowiak at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1998-2003), from which she graduated with honours; major in Mural Painting and Poster Art. Recipient of scholarships from the National Fund for Exceptionally Talented Children (1994), the Prime Minister (1997) and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2005). Winner of awards and honorary mentions including the Grand Prix at the 37th “Bielska Jesień 2005” Biennial of Painting held at Galeria Bielska BWA, the First Prize in a sculpture competition entitled “Freedom, Peace and Beauty” organized by Eurocentrum in Warsaw (2002) and the First Prize and an honorary mention respectively at the Polish national stage and the international stage of UNICEF’s visual art competition “My Family is Part of the World” (New York). She follows the tradition of Constructivism to create monumental paintings taking up extensive amounts of space showing an idealized artificial world of modernist architecture. She makes perfect use of large formats and she even paints on walls, which she is able to transform from flat surfaces into a complex set of alleys and endless walls. Despite the simplicity of her language she does not want her pictures to be impersonal. It is important for her to find the right balance between sensuality and logic and between emotion and rational perception.
