Mariola Brillowska – born in 1961 in Sopot, lives in Hamburg (Germany). Graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg (1991).
In her work she uses various means of expression – from painting through performance, prose, poetry to film and animation. Her work as a painter is an ironic commentary on a technicized reality. Her exhibitions, performances and films have been shown in Germany, Europe, the US, Asia and Poland. From 2005 to 2013, Mariola Brillowska taught as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Offenbach am Main. In 2013, she published her autobiographical novel “Hausverbot” - “No Trespassing.” She has won numerous international film and radio play awards and art scholarships.
