Stanisław Wieczorek – born in 1943 in Ujejsce (now a district of Dąbrowa Górnicza), a graduate of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Bielsko-Biała – graduated in 1962 (now the Julian Fałat State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Bielsko-Biała). He studied at the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1962 to 1967. He received his diploma from the Exhibition and Fair Design Studio led by Prof. Kazimierz Nita (1969). He remained closely associated with his alma mater for many years; at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, he led the Studio of Solids and Surfaces (from 1977) and the Studio of Geometry and Composition (from 1980). In 1996, he was awarded the title of full professor. He served multiple times as associate dean and dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts, where he led the Studio of Multimedia Artistic Creation. He was also the founder and director of the “Media Art” Institute.
Stanisław Wieczorek’s body of work encompasses painting, drawing, set design and exhibition design, printmaking, and above all, various forms of graphic design—from posters and book design to visual identity systems. In addition to his own work, he is the author or co-initiator of numerous initiatives that stimulate artistic life at the university, national, and even international levels, as well as the organizer of many exhibitions and an inspiration for publishing initiatives.
The artist lives in the municipality of Jabłonna; he creates and promotes numerous cultural events within the municipality, of which he has been an Honorary Citizen since 2019.
