Ewa Juszkiewicz, winner of the 2013 Bielska Jesień Grand Prix and author of the solo exhibition 'Falling Tempts' at the Bielska BWA Gallery, has won recognition in the most prestigious art-related bodies, and is seen as one of the most exciting painters of the early 21st century.
In 2014, her paintings were included in the album '100 Painters of Tomorrow' ('100 Painters of Tomorrow' by the London publishing house Thames & Hudson). In 2019, the New York Times and Galerie Magazine, an American quarterly on art and design, wrote about the artist's paintings, placing her among nine exceptional artists.
Ewa Juszkiewicz's oeuvre was also showcased in the third installment of Phaidon Publishing's 'Vitamin P' series (2016) featuring 'the world's hottest painters'.
Born in 1984 in Gdansk, Poland. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Diploma in painting 2009 under the direction of Prof. Maciej Swieszewski. She received her doctorate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow.
She is the winner of, among others, the Format magazine award at the 3rd Youth Art Festival in Szczecin Przeciąg, the Grand Prix at the Bielska Jesień 2013 Painting Biennale, the special award of the Artistic Journey of Hestia competition, the Grand Prix in TheOneMinutes competition and the 3rd Prize at the Multimedia Szajna Festival 2010. She is a scholarship holder of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship (2014) and a participant in the Pieńków International Art Workshops.
Ewa Juszkiewicz's work in solo and group exhibitions has been presented by institutions such as Almine Rech Gallery (Paris, 2019), Gagosian (New York, 2019), Cabinet (Milan, 2019), Galerie Rolando Anselmi (Berlin, 2018), Zachęta National Gallery of Art (Warsaw, 2018), MSN (Warsaw, 2017), Arsenal Gallery (Bialystok, 2016), National Art Gallery of China (Beijing, 2015), Christie's Ryder Street Gallery (London, 2014), MOCAK (Krakow, 2013).
Her works are in the collections of MSN in Warsaw, National Museum in Gdansk, Zachęta Sztuki Współczesnej in Szczecin, Towarzystwo Zachęty Sztuk Pięknych in Olsztyn, Galeria Bielska BWA and in private collections in Poland, Germany, the United States and Italy.
